I walk a dog around PNR every Tues/Wed afternoon and always spot at least one rat on my travels. TBH though, all that bread in the water for the ducks and a farm across the way with plenty of animal feed, must be a rat paradise!

I have this wood mouse which lives under the shed and feeds on the ground tray whenever there are no birds around - or so I thought. I noticed the other day the mouse feeding alonside a blackbird, without a care. It was there for ages before the blackbird flew off.

Obviously the mouse didn't see the blackbird as a threat but I am suprised the blackbird didn't see the mouse as a rival for the food and chase it off.

Wonderful thing nature and always full of surprises.

Brian

Sid - Lakeside angling club used to have fishing rights on that pond - its pretty well stocked with most of the coarse species - there are also some canny sized carp in there as well..

I'd hazard a guess there will also be terrapins and some whopping goldfish as some people decide to release their pets into local waters - some of them grow canny big....

Fox at cem making a right mess digging out its earth/den/lair between the graves. Sadly, I think it's only a matter of time before the council have to step in and have it gassed/shot/trapped :-(
