Counted 18 Pied Wagtail on the front lawn of the ST General Hospital this evening 20:00 hrs and wondered if this is common for the species. I have seen similar numbers at this location a couple of years ago but tend to see just the odd one or two most of the year.

Regards
John

Great catch with the Wryneck, Bob - nice one mate
Due to other commitments, I feel like Ive missed out 'big style' in getting out and about this year but Im not complaining - really :-)

The last few days have been a timely reminder of whats on offer on our local patch here are a few photos.
Cheers,
Dougie.

Walk around Trow this evening and all very quiet except for the Kestrel hunting at the south end. Approx. 100 BH Gulls and 1 Med Gull on the Leas next to the Bamburgh Pub.

Another drenching to boot

I left the quarry at 7.30, two magpies chased the wryneck about then it settled in the elder to the left of the gap in the wall (smallest of the two) then went fast asleep low down in the thick.

The weather the way it tonight could pin the bird down for another day in the quarry area......Don't take my word for it!

Seeing as the Ringing plays quite a big part in a lot of members weekends/lives (!), should I start to report on here what we get in the nets everytime we Ring? It could give people a good indication of whats in the area or passing through. What do you lot think?
