Whitburn Coast today:ringed plover, dunlin, curlew, sanderling, pied wagtails, rock pipits, turnstone, cormorants, redshank, oyster catchers, couple of shag, distant flock of scoter, kestrel and the usual gulls.Short visit to Shields:cormorants, shag, eider, usual gulls, and another distant flock of scoter. Not a tern in sight, although, quite a lot of gulls etc, on the North Shields side of small Haven.
