Viewed another couple of rarities to our boro the last couple of days in the form of 2 Nuthatches. These pair have been seen the last few days near the Rookery in Cleadon park(from the path above). But apparently they may have been here much longer by what I've been told. Treecreeper seen on both visits here, also a pair of G.S woodies and a Tree sparrow today. Also a male Blackbird gathering nesting material here. Cheers to Laurence for the tip off.

South Shields today. Good number of sanderling & ringed plover, 2 purple sandpiper, pied wagtail, oyster catchers and turnstones on the beach/rocks South of the pier. Also rock pipit, a few eider and cormorant North of the pier. Nothing of note on the Leas, but nice to see a few Fulmar at Frenchmas Bay.
