South Shields Pier:
Single RT Diver, Rock pipit, Eider, Guillemot, shags, cormorants, also flock of 11 Pinkies Northbound.
Just saw one shorty flying on the Leas, bit dark and windy by the time we arrived.

Some cracking pictures from today on here.

Didn't get any as good myself, but it was good to be able to put a few names to faces today.

In the Trow/Leas area between 10-11am. Seen loads of camo clad blokes with what looked like bazookas under their arms so give them a wide berth! Normal mix of birds for area, Fulmar, Shag, Gulliemott, Eider, Turnstone, Oystercatcher, Kestrel, Snow, Lapland and Reed Buntings.

Headed over to Boldon Flats after lunchtime dog walks. 4 Whooper swans, singles of Shelduck and Pheasant and good numbers of Greylag, Mallard, Teal, Widgeon and Coot. Tried for a decent photo but too dark to handhold at 500mm and too windy even on the tripod to keep everything sharp, obviously the sun shone brightly on the way back home!

Saw a tawny owl tonight at 17.30 sitting on a fence post along the byeway in front of the water tower. Got within 3 feet as I was in the car before it flew off.

Great fotos Lee, noise is a problem for the majority of people don't worry about it.

Bumped into John S. who said the CCG group were working hard along at the park area, some pics of them.
