Hi Derek – many thanks 
They are indeed – they’re very confiding and easily approached – providing of course you do it slowly.
Once I spotted them, I got as close as possible without spooking them, then I just inched closer while they were feeding – they didn’t seem at all bothered.
Best of luck if you’re going down that way mate.
Cheers,
Dougie.

Well done John - it just goes to show what you can pull in during the colder months if the correct habitat & food are provided.

I think it goes without saying, that it's the latest in a long line of 'special visitors' to your garden - i.e. regular Sparrowhawk, Water Rail (in a bin-lid lol), Brambling etc, etc - keep up the good work mate :-) ............

Cheers,
Dougie.

I often take a bag of seed and scatter it along the cliff tops around Frenchmans Doug quite possibly they are feeding on it and deciding to hang around.

Had a canny hour this morning with Dave Johnson on the Lea's looking for Dougie's SEO's

Anyway no joy there so we had a walk to cliff tops to watch / photograph the Fulmars which were putting on a canny show due to the strong winds..

Finally wandered along to Frenchman's to see if we could see the Snow Bunts - but no luck there either ..

As Derek said, cool breeze blowing, not much about due to the wind, one from the day before blowing the salt from his snek.

Thats a beauty Dave - just that little bit brighter on Tuesday makes all the difference, the lighting is much more appealing than those from Wednesday's trip

Probably a silly question given the weather, but was anyone over the Trow/Mound area today? There was a good selection of gulls and waders feeding and as the wind was so strong they were pretty approachable, prefering to walk away from you rather than fly off.

Anyways, there was one gull in particular with a darkish head and a definite dark tip on it's beak. I initially thought Common Gull, but not 100% sure as it looked big (which in hindsight was probably just it plumping its feathers up against the weather) but just wondering if anyone else spotted it to confirm?
