A few of my efforts from the Farnes on 20th.
I think John has more or less covered everything which included the following.
Puffin, Guillimot, Razorbill, Shag, LBB,GBB,Herring gulls, Kittiwake, Cormorant, Arctic, Sandwich, Common tern, Razorbill, Guillemots which included a few Bridled, Eider, Mallard, Fulmar, Rock Pipit and a few very distant Gannet.

An excellent day with good weather and nice to meet a few familuar faces.

Second from last picture of the scruffy Puffin made me smile Ray.

Quite a few were scruffy from the burrows but none as bad as that one.

Went to Souter today, nice to meet Dougie again who informed me that there would be no stall, due to the weather. There were only about 4 other stalls there and they were deciding wether to pack up or not.
Alas, I missed Steve and John, but as the weather faired up a bit, we had a walk around the cliff area and the stack.
There was plenty bird life about, which included the usual razorbill, cormorant, GBB, BH and herring gulls, kestrel, fulmar, crows etc.
The majority of kittiwake, now feeding and tending there young.
We were going to check the beach out for terns etc but lightening and thunder and torential rain, prevented this.

A few shots from my recent visit to the Isle of Mull:
Just managed to go through some of my photos from Mull.
Over a hundred species of birds seen, mainly common birds, but only one that stood out as been heard, and that was the Corn Crake, which we failed to see. It sounded that close, we could have stood on It, and they seemed to be everywhere. AH well, maybe next time we'll see one.
The weather was excellent apart from one morning, when It rained for a while. The main species seen were:
White Tailed Eagles, Hen Harrier, Buzzards, Peregrine, S.E Owls, distant Golden Eagle, Raven, Hooded Crow, Black Guillemot, whimbrel. Cuckoo.
We also went on a boat trip to see the White Tails, and It was excellent. The skipper put a fish out, and within seconds, we saw our first real close up Eagle, which swooped down, within, no more than 10 yards away, and took the fish. What a sight!.
This was a 3 hour trip and we saw another pair of Eagles, which done the same, also saw distant Manx Shearwater, black & common Guillemots, porpoise and another bonus for the trip, as we come across a pod of about 20 common Dolphins which were swimming alongside the boat and jumping out the water.
Couldn't have asked for a better day out, weather and species wise.
Just had to Include a Dolphin shot.

South Shields today.
Around the main pier area: LBB gull, swallows, house martins, oyster catcher, loads of meadow pipits and a few common tern, which were feeding off shore.
Had a quick look around Trow: more mipits, pied wagtil, a couple of distant sandwich terns and finaly, 2 little owls, in one of the usual places.

Sorry to report that the Marine park brood of ducklings are now down to just one. The little yellow fellow was being shielded by its parents from the advances of a Herring gull on the island today.

A nice sight over Westoe at about 8.45 this evening, over 60 Swifts mainly high up drifting south.

South Shields 3rd July:
On the main beach 50+ terns, consisting of 3 sandwich, common and a couple of unknown, which are on the I.D. site.
Called at Souter stack, much the same as last visit, the kitiwake chicks are getting bigger by the day.
