Yeah Little Owls still in Marsden Old Quarry, try the west end at this time of year, just before the main path bends to go to the hole in the wall look up to the holes in the cliff about midway up and you can usually pick one out.
The earlier in the mornin usually the better for these birds.

Good Luck

Berb

Anyone know if they are still regularly seen there??

Aye Derek, its the same owl with the gammy leg. It sat in the elder tree in front of its usual place and i got pretty close before a crow chased it off. Didn't see the second owl in the tree until it flew off, you can just about make it out in the top left of the photo behind a branch

Started off at the old quarry in the hope of seeing the Little Owls there - well the fog put paid to that - no chance LOL
Called in at the bird ringing hut to see the lads and see if anything of interest had been caught - Jason has covered this in the 'bird ringing' thread...
Headed down the A19 towards Teeside - still too foggy, there so decided to cut across to the A1 and visit Stang Forest hoping the fog was not that far inland - still hazy over there but a good few Crossbills about plus a 'now you see me now you don't' sighting of a Goshawk as it circled about a mile high in and out of the foggy patches..

Couple of pics of the Crossies..

One little owl sunning itself on the west quarry wall. Loads of the usual tits, robin, wren, blackbirds, etc.

Gammy leg was on show this late morning in Trow on its old patch. Quick visit here cut even shorter by emergency services blocking off the path to Frenchmans.(hope this ended well).
