The un-ringed bird Ian does not look like the Marsden Med., the hood on the Marsden bird is more advanced...(see first shot taken last weekend). The ringed bird brought up a interesting fact when I looked back at a few shots of Meds over the years on the Leas. On the 20/3/10 a Med. ringed in the same maner as the one you seen today was present on the Leas with another Med. gull. Could be the same 2 birds (poss. pair) passing thro- the Leas area again??.

Third med gull in trow main bowl this morning along with the two i saw yesterday, lots of meadow pips flying about, little owl, 4 linnets near mangoes and pied wagtail on the access road. Pair of little owl sitting together opposite second bay. Leas full of skylark now. Saw my first chifchaff of the year along the leas hedge , blackbird, robin and usual pair of magpie finishing off their nest
