Has anyone else got any peanut feeders up at the minute and are they being eaten? Reason I ask is that the ones at Westoe cem are barely being touched, with birds hammering the nyger seed and sunflower hearts first and then the fat balls, suet blocks and wildbird seed. Last year I couldn't keep the peanut feeders filled and they were the first to go in preference to the seed?

The various tits hammered them last year Brian and we still have a decent number visiting the feeders this year, but they seem to have gone off peanuts in preference to the sunflower hearts and nyger seed?

Hi Rob
I have a window box feeder out and stock it with Sunflower, peanuts, mealworm and suet pellets and I am finding the tits are going for the sunflowers first followed by the peanuts then the mealies and lastly the suet. I did but one of Lidl's peanut/fatball combo's up the other day down the garden and straight away the local Squirrel found it and after cutting it down gathered the peanuts up and buried most of them in mine and gardens around me.

Regards
John

I had to re-insert one of the peanut feeder perches the other day and put that down to a squirrel having a go. Just as well we have heavy duty peanut feeders up!

BTW Aldi's have bags of mealworm (200g for £3.99) high energy seed mix and peanuts (both 1.5kg for £3.99) and also bigger sacks of wildbird seed 12.75kg for £8.99 in at the minute and a particularly nice Shwarze beer for £1.79! For anyone who used to work in Germany and didn't like lager this will bring back memories!

Anyone know what that big 'oil rig' type affair is off the North coast?

Hi everyone,
there is going to be a local craft fair held at the Freemasons Hall (beside Morrisons car park), on Saturday 10th Nov and Sun 11th Nov.
I'll be selling a few of my landscape photographs. There will also be other local stalls aswell as a vintage tea room with entertainment if anyone fancies popping along.

Cheers, Ian

Hi all, I had a very nice morning out with Jarra Sid today, got a few nice shots of the Bee Eater everyone 's been talking about. I was surprised at how far some people have travelled, (London, Cheshire and York) some very keen Birders out there.
