There is still a little time to join in the Mammal race and Biodiversity bingo.
All you have to do is send in your sightings of mammals, amphibians and reptiles in the north east. Sightings from January to April this year, and closing date is 8th May.
The aim is to publish a new mammal, amphibaian and reptile atlas for the region.
All the instructions are on the link above, but basically they want you to fill in their ecording sheet, giving date, location grid ref or postode, species, number or signs (eg mole hill) and any comments.
You may even win a prize! In your covering letter send contact details and credentials eg membership of wildlife groups.

Does anyone fancy a run down to Blacktoft in May possibly returning via Bempton? Not sure what the best time is I think it is May but I am sure one of the more experienced birders on here will let us know.
Normally there are a few cars going down so lifts can be arranged. Sunday is the best day for me

Havn't heard anything Derek but wouldn't be suprised looking at the low life that sometimes gets in the area. It would be a sad day if it true. Wasn't so long ago they were shooting Kittiwake in Marsden Bay just 400 mtr away. John
