Injured woodpigeon in garden.

Hi everyone. We have an injured pigeon in our garden - we think he has a damaged wing. He's been out there for over a day now, so we're bringing him in the house - we have a box and a towel for him. What can we do to help him heal? We would take him to the Blythe wildlife sanctuary but we don't have a car at the moment and we're based in Gateshead. If anyone has any advice it would be very welcome. Thanks, peter

Apologies for not replying earkier Pete - been away in Sussex till this afternoon and saw the post in the other message. We had an injured black headed gull a few years back and were able to take it up to the Blyth Wildlife people who dealt with it superbly for us. I would definitely recommend taking the poor little bugger to them if you can. Sorry I cant offer to take it up there myself - we leave the country for a few weeks very soon.
